Kudos to the AFSS staff member for
his response to a problem that potentially could have caused more damage. His reaction is a good example of taking the
necessary action when being called upon, which makes our decision to continue
having a great relationship with Aleut worthwhile. Thanks.

Aleut Facilities Support Service
continues to provide superior customer services in their approach to
accomplishing all contractual requirements on the United States Air Force
Academy (USAFA) Base Supply Operations. There are many examples of how AFSS
personnel were proactive during this reporting period, and results indicate
Aleut personnel have excellent training and abilities. The contractor is able to maintain remarkably
qualified managers and thus maintain a responsive working relationship with
their customers and the government personnel that have oversight of this

I want to take a moment
to commend Aleut employee for her handling of a medical situation that occurred
in my office. One of GSA’s Contract
employees had a fainting spell that required a call to 911 be placed. By all accounts from my staff, your AGS employee handled the call in the most professional and calm manner that
can be expected throughout the emergency situation. This employee’s ability to slow down the experience and provide
clear information to the 911 operator, while keeping
the employee in a safe place on the floor is commendable. Her ability to follow the 911 dispatchers
instructions carefully is worthy if recognition. The emergency response team was able to receive all the
information necessary to assess the situation and provide quality medical
attention to the employee all in a very short period of time. Please extend my heartfelt thank you to the
Aleut Team.

accomplishing all contractual requirements on the United States Air Force

AFSS personnel took nine partially
used drums of Thunderbird Smoke Oil that AFSS had in their storage area and
they consolidated them into five drums. The smoke oil is used each year by the
Thunderbirds during the graduation ceremonies at the USAFA. This consolidation ensured the USAFA a
savings of $1,000.00 toward the cost of purchasing new oil for the next
graduation.
AFSS woodworking section fabricated
32 munitions containers for use by the AFSS Munitions personnel. These new
containers were used to replace 32 non-WPM (wood packaging material) compliant
outer containers with new heat treated WPM compliant containers.
AFSS coordinated with 10MSG
Transportation, AFMC and AMC to have one of three T-4 Simulator moved from
Fairchild Hall to Peterson AFB to be airlifted to the National Museum of the
United States Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. AFSS also coordinated with the Stafford Air
and Space Museum in Weatherford, OK to have the second simulator shipped to
them. Each simulator kit consists of one cockpit and four large cabinets.
AFSS has developed a perceptive delivery
schedule that is flexible to meet the customers’ needs with have ensured that
all commodities were delivered or picked up on time and without any
difficulties or customer complaints. Reports are always on time and milestones
are completed ahead of the establish schedule.

The
Shiloh Police Department recently moved to a new building, leaving growing pains
for us. We realized we were in desperate need of filing cabinets and had no
money in the budget. I made a phone call
to your team and your team solved the problem within a day by coming up with
several re-utilized filing cabinets. My city’s Public Engineer was so impressed
that he wanted to come with me to pick up the filing cabinets to personally
thank the employees responsible for this quick turnaround.

“Over
the years the process has gotten faster and faster.” I went in to out-process a
separating member. I did not have the member’s SSN with me. Instead of doing
what most office on this installation do (which is sending me away and making
me come back with the information), your team took the time to go and look up
the SSN so the person’s out processing sheet could be completed. It’s nice to see people who work with the Air
Force willing to go the extra mile that that Air Force personnel don’t do,
